The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is letting federal workers affected by the month-long government shutdown ride for free.
The offer went into effect Thursday morning. It applies to the First Coast Flyer, St. Johns River Ferry, JTA Connexion and buses on fixed routes. The Skyway remains free to all passengers.
JTA said the offer will continue for as long as the shutdown lasts.
All workers have to do is show their federal identification badge when boarding a bus, shuttle or the ferry.
