The Duval County Clerk of Courts office is expanding its online payment system to let people pay more than just speeding tickets.
Brian Corrigan with the clerk’s office said around 80,000 people have taken advantage of the basic E-Pay system since it began nearly two years ago.
“This expansion, after the success of that initial run with civil traffic tickets, allows online payments for most criminal case types including criminal traffic violations, misdemeanor cases and felony,” said Corrigan.
The E-Pay system accepts debit and credit cards although Corrigan said the card companies tack on an additional 2.75 percent user fee. Late fees can also be paid using the system.
The payments are processed through the online system 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Payment receipts show up immedidately in court files.
The system can be accessed at epay.duvalclerk.com.
