5 City Council Races Headed For May Runoff Election

While many of Jacksonville’s candidates for office won outright Tuesday night, five City Council races are headed to a runoff becuase no single candidate crossed the 50 percent vote threshold. 

In the at Large – Group 1 race, Democrat Lisa King will face Republican Terrance Freeman.

Incumbent Democrat Tommy Hazouri has been forced into a runoff for his At Large – Group 3 seat. He now faces Republican Greg Rachal.

District 8 incumbent Democratic Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman, who was appointed by former Gov. Rick Scott, will face Tameka Gaines Holly.

In District 10, Brenda Priestly Jackson, a Democrat, will face Celestine Mills, also a Democrat.

The District 14 race is also headed to the May 14 election. Republican Randy DeFoor will face Democrat Sunny Gettinger.
