Publix Will Be Lead Tenant In New RiverTown Shopping Center

Mattamy Homes announced that Publix Super Markets Inc. will anchor the commercial development it will launch at RiverTown along the St. Johns River in St. Johns County.

The 54,000-square-foot Publix, with a drive-thru pharmacy, will be the lead tenant of a retail shopping center, according to our Jacksonville Daily Record news partner. The grocer is working through the county development process, according to a news release.

RiverTown encompasses nearly 5,000 acres and is selling new homes in 10 neighborhoods, The homes range from the mid-$200s to more than $1 million.

Mattamy said 11 model homes are open daily to tour.

RiverTown's amenities include a junior-size Olympic lap pool, a zero-entry recreational pool with a corkscrew slide, lighted tennis courts, a fitness center at the RiverHouse, an amphitheater with a stage and concert lawn along the river, and a full-time social programming director.

Recreational activities include a kayak launch, dog park and walking and biking trails.
