Sprouts Farmers Market announced Friday it will open its first Jacksonville store in The Markets at Town Center on July 10.
WJCT News partner the Jacksonville Daily Record reports the Phoenix-based natural and organic food grocery chain plans a hiring fair for 150 full- and part-time workers it needs for the 30,000-square-foot store at 4873 Town Center Parkway.
Sprouts said potential team members “should share a passion for healthy eating and the fresh, natural and organic products offered throughout the store.”
The hiring fair is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 29-30 at the Jacksonville Marriott at 4670 Salisbury Road.
Positions include department managers, assistant department managers, clerks, cashiers and more.
Sprouts said applicants will be able to speak with the Sprouts hiring team and should bring copies of their resume.
Applicants can also visit sprouts.com/careers or call 1-866-925-2396 for nonmanagerial roles.
Sprouts said in a news release the store will offer “an abundant selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and barrels of wholesome grains, nuts and sweets in a bright, open store layout.”
It will feature an in-house butcher “who prepares hand-crafted sausages daily and assists customers with special cuts of meat and seafood seasoning.”
The store will offer a deli, baked goods, craft beer and wine and a Vitamins and Body Care Department with more than 7,700 products.
The company also said the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation is accepting applications from Jacksonville-based nonprofits for its Neighborhood Grants program.
Organizations that increase children's access to fresh, healthy food and nutrition education in local neighborhoods surrounding Sprouts stores can apply by visiting sprouts.com/neighborhoodgrants.
Sprouts says it employs more than 30,000 team members and operates more than 300 stores in 19 states.
The chain also plans a second store at Tamaya Market, a shopping center in development at the Tamaya planned community at northwest Beach and Tamaya boulevards.
