Anastasia State Park Photo Wins 2nd Place In Statewide Contest

Great photo, right? The folks at Florida State Parks certainly thought so.

Sharon Reed woke up well before sunrise to make the journey to Anastasia State Park in St. Johns County for the chance to capture a shot of birds during the nesting season. 

Her photo titled “Small and Sweet” was the second place winner in the Florida State Parks Winter 2019 Photo Contest, which received more than 2,200 entries.

The winning photo was taken by Randy Lathrop. His “Dade Battlefield Reenactment” was taken at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park in Bushnell and captures a scene during the annual reenactment event.

Lathrop won a Sun Dolphin Aruba SS 12-Foot Sit-in Kayak and a Florida State Parks Family Annual Entrance Pass for his photo, while Reed won a Pacific Breeze Easy Setup Beach Tent and 12 Florida State Parks Day Entrance Passes.
