54,000 Early Votes Cast Ahead Of Jacksonville’s Tuesday Runoff Election

Bill Bortzfield
Tuesday is Election Day. Precincts are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Duval County Elections Supervisor Mike Hogan has been disappointed by the low turnout among early and mail-in voters in the runoff elections for five Jacksonville City Council races.

Two weeks of early voting ended Sunday, with Tuesday being Election Day.

“Right now we’re at 8.9% turnout - so that’s 54,000 votes. If we get another 24,000 -plus, that will bring us up another four points. We may get to 14-or-15% before this is all over. And we were thinking 9-to-11 [%],” said Hogan on Monday.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Hogan reminds voters they must cast their ballots at their assigned precinct location.  A sample ballot for each voters’ address and a precinct finder are available in the WJCT Voters’ Guide.

Here’s a look at each of the matchups. Click the links to read candidate profiles.

At Large Group 3 (Countywide race)

Hogan reminds voters that a legal photo identification and signature must be presented before voting.
