Michael Kirk will speak to a Jacksonville audience on Tuesday, June 18. Tickets are still available.

Documentary filmmaker Michael Kirk has produced, directed and written more than 100 hours of FRONTLINE, PBS’S flagship long-form documentary series that started in 1983.

In 2018 Kirk produced and directed the specials Trump’s Showdown, Trump’s Takeover, and McCain.

He's also the winner of every major award in broadcast journalism, including four Peabody Awards, four duPont-Columbia Awards, two George Polk Awards, 16 Emmys, and 12 Writers Guild of America awards.

Tuesday on WJCT's First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross, Kirk said his backgroung influences his choice of topics.

“I grew up in Idaho. I connect to a different kind of America in lots of ways, or different parts of America. So I'm always thinking about what my brothers in Idaho need to know and want to see," he said. "So a lot of my films and film choices are made about the hard choices around topics that affect people like them.”

Kirk's talk at WJCT Studio is the evening of Tuesday, June 18.  More information and tickets for th event are available here.
