The second term of Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry kicked off Monday with his inauguration at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts on the Northbank.
Curry was sworn in by Judge Gary Flower.
After taking the oath of office, Curry thanked his family, first responders, supporters and staff for their efforts during his first term.
He promised to keep the momentum going in his next four years as mayor.
“My team and I hit the ground running with a strong sense of urgency and purpose. And while we’ve accomplished a lot, we have so much more to do. As I’ve said before — good can be better and better can become best,” Curry said during the inauguration.
Also sworn-in this morning Monday for his second term in office was Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams.
