Sleiman Enterprises Acquires 3 San Marco Square Buildings

Sleiman Enterprises is taking over three buildings in the heart of San Marco.

The former owners of The Jacksonville Landing have acquired a collection of some of San Marco Square's most iconic buildings.

Sleiman Enterprises said in a news release that its new properties are at 1972, 1974 and 1980 San Marco Boulevard.

The one in the center is a 94-year-old, 8,200-square-foot building overlooking Balis Park. Most recently, Indochine restaurant was the building’s tenant.

The adjacent properties have current tenants Starbucks and Beau Outfitters.

Chief Operating Officer Michael McNaugh said the 12,000-square-feet purchase is much smaller than properties his company typically acquires. 

"But because of the iconic nature and the historic character of the building, it was really something the organization has grown up enjoying and participated in. And many of our principals live in the San Marco area,” he said.  “It was just a unique opportunity that we couldn’t pass up.” 

McNaugh said they’re searching for a new tenant for the now vacant restaurant building.

The Starbucks and Beau Outfitters will stay on board, he said.

“In acquiring these properties in San Marco Square, we intend to provide Jacksonville with an experience like no other. We’re confident this acquisition will only further elevate San Marco Square,” said Toney Sleiman, CEO of Sleiman Enterprises in an email to WJCT News.

The terms of the acquisition were not announced. Sleiman Enterprises owns and manages more than 5 million square feet of retail space in Florida and the Southeast.
