Mickey Mouse will soon be setting up shop at a Jacksonville Target.
Disney and Target have announced a collaboration will bring Disney stores to selected Targets around the country and Jacksonville is on the list.
The Target store in Mandarin at 10490 San Jose Blvd. will be among the first 25 to open nationwide on October 4.
An additional 40 locations will be added by October 2020, according to the companies.
The stores will carry more than 450 items, including toys, games, clothes and accessories from the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
Displays will include music, interactives, photo ops and a seating area where families can watch Disney movie clips.
The timing of the launch will coincide with new merchandise coming out to capitalize on Disney's Frozen 2 (released Nov. 22) and Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker (released Dec. 20).
The branded "shop-in-shop" layout will have an average of 750 square feet inside the Target stores, adjacent to kids clothing and toys.
"We know the way consumers shop for those products is changing — so we're making the magic easier to access than ever before," said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney parks, experiences and products, in a news release.
Jacksonville already has a standalone Disney store at the St. Johns Town Center at 4818 River City Drive.
