Area utilities are actively updating their progress on keeping the lights on as much as possible during Hurricane Dorian.
JEA crews are out Wednesday responding to power outages. They will stay in the field working until sustained winds reach 40 mph from Hurricane Dorian, according to the utility.
Mutual aid workers from Austin Energy are also in Jacksonville to help. As of 9:22 a.m. on Wednesday, JEA reported there were 23 active power outages affecting 1,012 customers.
