The Northeast Florida blood bank says there is currently a critical need for donations of type 0 negative, but people with any blood type are encouraged to donate.
People who want to give blood need to be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.
A photo identification is also required.
LifeSouth has two blood donation centers in Jacksonville:
- 7840 Baymeadows Way
- Inside the Baptist Medical Center at 800 Prudential Drive.
Additional information on how to donate is at LifeSouth’s website.
