Before you dig in to that half-gallon of Blue Bell Butter Crunch ice cream, you’d best check the nine digit code on its lid.
The company is recalling an entire batch of Butter Crunch ice cream produced on August 26 at its plant in Sylacauga, Alabama.
The problem is that it could contain pieces of a broken tool that got mixed into the ice cream during production.
Blue Bell said the affected half-gallons were distributed to parts of nine southern states including Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
The number to look for is: 082621222
Consumers who bought the recalled ice cream can take it back to the store for a full refund.
