The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has officially ended its search for 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams after human remains were identified as hers.

Taylor’s mother, Brianna Williams, reported her missing from their Brentwood-area home on November 6.

The search eventually expanded to include an area of rural Alabama where authorities discovered the remains of a body.

JSO Investigations Chief T.K. Waters announced the DNA test results Monday afternoon.

“Today we can confirm that the remains are that of the missing girl Taylor Rose Williams. We’re thankful to the community who helped in the search for Taylor and we remain committed to working to bring justice for her,” said Waters.

Waters declined to share information about Williams’ cause of death, citing the ongoing investigation into the case as the reason to withhold the cause for now.

Waters added Brianna Williams remains uncooperative.  She is in the Duval County Jail charged with child neglect and lying to police.  Her arraignment is set for December 4.
