Taylor Rose Williams was reported missing on Wednesday.

When Brianna Shontae Williams told Jacksonville investigators that she had last seen her 5-year-old daughter about midnight Wednesday in their new Ivy Street home, that was not the truth, Sheriff Mike Williams said.

Now the 27-year-old U.S. Navy petty officer has “chosen to stop cooperating” with detectives, leaving the sheriff to plead with the community for any information on when the mother and daughter may have last been seen together.

Some people have told police they had not seen Taylor Rose Williams in weeks, and the sheriff said he could not confirm the last time she was seen alive. After initially cooperating with the investigation, Brianna Williams is no longer talking after being confronted with some discrepancies in her story, the sheriff said.
