The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens has received an endowment that will fund the museum’s chief curator position in perpetuity.

Former Jaguars owners J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver made the $3 million donation through their Weaver Family Foundation Fund, according to the museum.

The newly endowed position will be known as the Cummer Museum’s J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Chief Curator.

The museum’s current chief curator is Holly Keris, who has been with the museum for 17 years.

The donation comes as the museum’s board prepares to search for a new CEO.

Adam Levine, who was hired as the Cummer Museum of Arts & Gardens CEO in October 2018, announced last week he is returning to the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) in Toledo, Ohio, where he will serve as the museum’s director.

Levine's last day at the museum will be April 24.
