Three Florida communities, including Orange Park, have made a new top 10 list of places to retire.

SmartAsset looked at three factors that affect the quality of life for retirees to come up with the list:

  • Tax-friendliness
  • Medical care
  • Social opportunities

Orange Park’s overall tax rate came in at 14.5%, according to the financial technology company, which said 22.3% of the town’s population was made up of seniors.

The top 10 U.S. communities for retirees ranked in order are:

1.) Naples, FL

2.) Cumming, GA

3.) Beverly Hills, CA

4.) Media, PA

5.) Gig Harbor, WA

6.) Farmington, MI

7.) New Port Richey, FL

8.) Grosse Pointe, MI

9.) Westlake Village, CA

10.) Orange Park, FL

Among the criteria SmartAsset looked at was the number of doctors' offices available per 1,000 people.

Orange Park's medical care infrastructure has been rapidly expanding.  Orange Park Medical Center is building a 101,435-square-foot tower that will house 48 beds for medical and surgical patients, bringing Orange Park Medical Center’s total number of licensed beds to 365.

It's part of a $126 million project that includes a new electrophysiology lab, dining room and kitchen, medical office building and NICU expansion.
