Truist (formerly BB&T bank) Senior Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Manager James P. Citrano, Jr. has been appointed to Jacksonville’s Downtown Investment Authority (DIA) Board.

He fills the seat that was formerly held by James F. Bailey, who previously owned and published the Jacksonville Daily Record, which is a WJCT News partner. The DIA has nine members total, five  appointed by the mayor and four by the council president, according to its website.

The DIA announced Citrano’s appointment Wednesday, which was made by City Council President Scott Wilson on January 22.

“His [Citrano’s] knowledge and experience in the banking business should prove to be a valuable asset to our City,” Wilson said in a news release.

Citrano’s first term runs through June 30, 2023.

Our downtown has seen great progress over the last several years. With as many projects and initiatives under way, I am both honored to receive the DIA appointment and eager to engage with the Board and staff to continue to build on this positive momentum,” Citrano said in a statement.
