Current council President Scott Wilson has announced he is resigning to run for Duval County Clerk of Courts.
Becton and Hazouri have both been on the city council since 2015. Becton serves district 11, which includes the southeastern corner of Duval County, while Hazouri holds an at-large seat.
The council will take a vote Tuesday via email to determine the next president. The winner needs 10 votes.
