Time Is Running Out To Register To Vote In August 18 Florida Primary

CYD HOSKINSON / WJCT NEWS
The Regency Square Branch Library (pictured) is scheduled to be an early voting location for the August 18 Florida primary.

The last day to register to vote for Florida’s August 18 primary is July 20.

That’s also the last day to switch party affiliations in time for the primary. Florida has a closed primary, which means voters can only cast ballots for candidates who belong to their party.

Voters with no party affiliation (NPA) can only vote in non-partisan contests and referenda.

Florida voters can make party changes and update their signatures online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

Registration can also be done on Supervisor of Elections websites:

Voters can also get the forms at post offices, public libraries, public assistance offices and most government agencies, according to the Clay County Supervisor of Elections office.
The early voting dates for First Coast area counties are as follows:

  • Baker County: August 6 - 15
  • Clay County: August 3 – August 15
  • Duval County: August 3 – August 16
  • Nassau County: August 3 – 16
  • Putnam County: August 4 - 15
  • St. Johns County: August 6 – 15
