A woman is dead and a man was rushed to a hospital for treatment Tuesday night after a shooting at the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Pecan Park Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
WJCT News partner News4Jax reported that Lt. J.D. Stronko with the Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to the warehouse shortly before 7:30 p.m. He said they found a man and woman, both of whom had been shot.
According to Stronko, the woman died at the scene and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown.
“I want to emphasize that this does not appear to be any type of active shooter incident,” Stronko said.
Stronko could not give specifics about a suspected shooter. He said it’s believed the man and woman were employees of Amazon.
