Public Asked To Weigh In On 12 Applicants For 4th Judicial Circuit Vacancy

The public is being asked to weigh in on potential replacements for Judge David Gooding, who is retiring from Northeast Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has asked the Fourth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission to give him a list of nominees to fill the vacancy.

The nominating commission has received 12 applications and will interview all of the applicants on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Interviews will be held in the Chambers of The Honorable Mark H. Mahon, Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, at the Duval County Courthouse, Room 7139, according to the following schedule:

The commission is asking members of the bench, the bar and the public to reach out with any information about those applicants by Oct. 21.

All proceedings of the nominating commission are open to the public except for deliberations.
