A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket carrying a classified spacecraft payload for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office lifts off from Complex 41 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Friday, Nov. 13, 2020.

New names for two Florida Air Force bases will reflect their involvement with the fledgling U.S. Space Force.

Patrick Air Force Base near Cocoa Beach will be called Patrick Space Force Base, while Cape Canaveral Air Force Station will become Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, according to DefenseOne.com.

Both bases will still come under the command of the Air Force, which also oversees the Space Force.

A renaming ceremony is set for Wednesday, December 9. The U.S. Space Force turns 1 on December 20.
