JHS Is Offering Free Pet Adoptions For Food Donations On Jan. 24

Jacksonville Humane Society
Dynasty is one of the pets available for adoption at the Jacksonville Humane Society.

Adding a furry friend to your family will only cost you a bag of pet food this Sunday.

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is offering free adoptions in exchange for a bag of pet food. Normally, adopting a pet can cost up to $125.

The adoption special benefits both pets needing homes and pets who already have homes. Due to the economic impact of COVID-19, JHS has given out more than 170,000 pounds of food to families who need help feeding their pets.

The pantry is free for anyone in need, as long as their pet is spayed or neutered. Right now, their stock of cat food is especially low.

Bring your donation when you come to adopt at the Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, which happens to be National “Change a Pet’s Life Day.”
