Multiple food nonprofits are distributing free produce and non-perishables in the Jacksonville area this week for people experiencing food insecurity.

Three events sponsored by the nonprofit Farm Share will be as follows:

  • Thursday, February 18 at 5 p.m. at Wilkinson Junior High School
  • Saturday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m. at Duval Charter School at Westside
  • Saturday, February 20 at 11 a.m. at Wayman Temple AME Church

Food will be offered while supplies last.
Distribution will be entirely drive-through, so participants must arrive in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed.

The food has been provided by Farm Share, a nonprofit serving all 67 Florida counties. According to its website, Farm Share distributed more than 101 million pounds of food to 19 million households in 2020 alone.

A separate food distribution event, this one from Lutheran Social Services, will be offered Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. at the LSS facility at 4615 Philips Highway in Jacksonville. That event is also first-come-first serve.
