The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is expanding its mobile COVID vaccine program, Wellness on Wheels.

There’s now a daily vaccination site at the Gateway Town Center, at the end of JTA’s First Coast Flyer Green Line.

This expansion of the service follows the closure of the federal COVID-19 vaccination site that had been operating at Gateway but closed on May 25, as part of the shift in national and state vaccination strategy from large, centralized vaccine sites to smaller locations spread throughout communities.

Wellness on Wheels is a partnership between Agape Family Health and JTA. They began offering mobile vaccine clinics in March.

The Gateway vaccine site will be open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through July 31, and offers both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

At the time of this story’s publication, approximately 32% of Duval County residents were fully vaccinated, according to data from the Florida Department of Health.
