FlixBus Expands To Jacksonville With Service To 4 Cities

FlixBus

The German company FlixBus is expanding bus service to 12 U.S. cities, including Jacksonville.

In Jacksonville, riders can now book tickets online  for buses to Daytona Beach, Orlando, Atlanta and Macon, Ga.

The buses, which depart from the St. Johns Town Center at 4624 Town Crossing Drive, include free wifi, power outlets at every seat and "extra legroom."

FlixBus one-way ticket to Orlando costs $14.99 with a $2.25 service fee, as of Tuesday morning.

Passengers can also purchase what the company calls carbon-neutral tickets. Although most of the FlixBus’ fleet runs on fossil fuels, the company says it offsets that by making donations to the National Forest Foundation and the Global Climate Protection Project via the proceeds from passengers who choose to purchase carbon-neutral tickets.

The company is also testing electric buses on some long-distance routes in France and Germany.

FlixBus is a bus company headquartered in Munich that serves dozens of countries.
