A Food Pantry in Jacksonville

Farm Share, one of the state’s largest food banks, is distributing food at multiple locations in Jacksonville and the surrounding area over the next week, potentially serving hundreds of households.

Food-insecure residents can get fresh produce and non-perishable goods from Farm Share at drive-thru locations set up to minimize contact and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

The No Kid Hungry Florida organization has also announced a new batch of grants totaling $2.6 million to over 50 organizations throughout the state to help school districts and nonprofits provide free, healthy meals to kids over the summer while school is out.

Pandemic waivers at the state and federal level have acted as grants to provide for meal delivery, refrigeration and transportation costs.

No Kids Hungry has an online map where residents can find dozens of locations throughout Duval and nearby counties that provide free breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks at designated times weekly.

Texting “FOOD” or “COMIDA” to 877-877 will also direct interested households to eligible sites in their neighborhood.
