Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers (SEG) is launching a new liquor store concept in its home market. The first of its stand-alone WDs wine, beer and liquor stores is scheduled to be opened in the Miramar Center shopping plaza at 4472 Hendricks Ave. before the holidays.

The WDs liquor store concept will be the first in the grocer’s Southeast footprint.

It will feature more than 1,700 wines along with a tasting station with 10 wines on tap for customers to try.

The store will also have what Southeastern Grocers describes as a “massive Beer Cave” with international, domestic and local craft beer selections, a large variety of liquor selections with a mixology section and more.

The WDs store will host free events throughout the year; including tastings, demonstrations, holiday celebrations and community gatherings.

Southeastern Grocers also announced it will open a new St. Augustine Shores Winn-Dixie, located at 181 Blackford Way, in the Shores Village Plaza in St. Augustine, along with a new St. Johns Winn-Dixie, located at the southwest corner of U.S. 1 and Race Track Road as part of the Grand Cypress development.

The St. Augustine Shores Winn-Dixie will open by the end of this year and the Grand Cypress location will open next year.
