St. Johns County is asking residents to pre-register for appointments at its COVID-19 testing site, which is opening Monday, Aug. 16.
Pre-registration will help reduce wait times at the site, located at 3125 Agricultural Center Drive in St. Augustine.
The pre-registration process requires residents to give some personal information, like their name, address and birthday.
The free COVID-19 testing will be offered 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, beginning Monday.
Signs will be posted directing traffic to the Wind Mitigation Building near the St. Johns County Agricultural Center.
The site will provide PCR and rapid (antigen) COVID-19 tests for those 12 months and older, but recipients may only choose one.
Rapid test results will be available the same day, and PCR test results are typically available between 24 and 48 hours. Results will be delivered to recipients via text or email.
Though pre-registration is encouraged, there is no appointment necessary to receive a COVID-19 test, and insurance is not required.
