Jacksonville residents who are electric vehicle owners or are considering going electric are invited to attend JEA’s first EV event at the Museum of Science and History Oct. 2.

JEA is hosting the event with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, North Florida Transportation Planning Organization and North Florida Clean Fuels Coalition. Guests can test drive electric vehicles from local dealers, meet current EV drivers and learn about the benefits of driving electric vehicles. Electric vehicle owners also will be invited to record why they like being an EV owner in a video booth.

“At JEA, we are committed to promoting energy conservation and initiatives to reduce air emissions,” the city-owned utility said in a news release.

The event is being held during National Drive Electric Week—Sept. 25 through Oct. 3, 2021— a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Local dealerships including Volkswagen, BMW and Porsche will be offering test drives of their newest electric vehicles. Visit the local National Drive Electric Week  page for the latest information about participating dealers.

JTA’s fully autonomous electric vehicle also will be on display.

JEA will be offering the first 100 attendees a $5 coupon for admission to MOSH and will have other prizes throughout the day. RSVP in advance here for a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card.
