The food distribution nonprofit Farm Share will give away free food to about 500 food-insecure households in Jacksonville on Saturday.

Farm Share will give out fresh produce and non-perishable goods at Twin Lakes Academy Elementary School on the city's Southside at 8000 Point Meadows Drive. The distribution will begin at 9 a.m. and run until all supplies have been given out.

Farm Share will be joined by Duval County School Board Member Lori Hershey and Jacksonville City Councilman Terrance Freeman.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, distributions are drive-thru only to minimize contact. Attendees must wear a mask and arrive in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed to participate in giveaway.

More details about upcoming food distributions in Northeast Florida are on Farm Share's website.
