The candidate lineup for state legislative races in the Democratic-dominated portion of Duval County crystalized Monday when Jacksonville City Council member Garrett Dennis filed for a state House seat.
Dennis will run for District 13, which is an open seat because incumbent Tracie Davis passed up running for re-election in the House in order to take a shot at the Senate seat Audrey Gibson will leave because of term limits.
Dennis becomes the second City Council member to file as a candidate for the state Legislature, joining Reggie Gaffney who is vying with Davis for the state Senate seat.
