Truck driver shortage keeps Jacksonville's curbside recycling on hold

Anyone wanting a return of Jacksonville’s curbside recycling for Christmas might check whether Santa’s sleigh is available for off-season work.

Chances of getting waste-haulers to do it, however, are looking slim.

“It’s our goal to get recycling back as soon as we can,” a city spokesperson said; “but after speaking with our contractors this week, they are still having difficulty finding licensed workers and are still understaffed.”
