New sites for program that feeds 2,000 students daily

The number of places for Jacksonville students to obtain after-school meals is increasing.

Starting Monday, the Child Care Food Program provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture will operate at 31 sites in Jacksonville through May 27, up from 29. It feeds about 2,000 Jacksonville students daily, the city says

At each location students can receive free, nutritious meals after school hours on weekdays.

The two new locations are the Boys and Girls Club at the Clanzel Brown Community Center, 4575
Moncrief Road, and the Afterschool Program at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, on 10325 Interstate
Center Drive.
