Weavers donate $2 million to North Florida School of Special Education

Jacksonville philanthropists Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver have donated $2 million to establish an endowment fund for the North Florida School of Special Education.

The gift was the largest in the history of the school, which was founded in 1992 to serve students with intellectual and developmental differences.

Head of School Sally Hazelip said she "almost dropped to my knees" when she received the phone call about the endowment.
