The Jacksonville City Council revamped its Public Service Grant process last year after backlash over apparent preferential treatment for nonprofits that employed council members.
The 2021 change mandated that nonprofits with council ties compete for the grants and meet the same requirements as other applicants.
Tuesday the council is expected to consider more changes that, as proposed by council member Matt Carlucci, would require all Public Service Grant applicants to provide more detailed information about their finances and past accomplishments.
