NAS Jacksonville nabs intruder who jumped fence

An man crashed his vehicle Wednesday morning at Roosevelt Boulevard and Collins Road and jumped the fence onto Naval Air Station Jacksonville. He was nabbed more than four hours later.

The NAS Jacksonville Security Department, along with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, searched for the suspect after the intrusion about 10 a.m. All personnel living at the station were asked to remain in their homes.

The naval station announced about 2:50 p.m. that he had been caught. No other details were given.
