A century-old downtown Jacksonville hotel that once offered luxury living then descended into a squalid squat for transients is getting a new lease on life.
The Ambassador Hotel at 420 N. Julia St. is being restored and renovated into a luxury 100-room TRYP by Wyndham boutique hotel with a restaurant, lounge and fitness center.
The landmark hotel is owned by AXIS Hotels LLC, an affiliate of Augustine Development Group headquartered in St. Augustine.
