It's been nearly 17 years since neighborhood residents were able to walk to a grocery store at the former Town & Country shopping center in Arlington.
A McDonald's offers fast food while a nearby convenience store has chips, beer and other snacks, but residents say there's little to nothing in the way of fresh produce or other healthy, nutritious fare in that neighborhood.
That will change next year.
