Jacksonville is one of five Florida cities being targeted with billboards and social media ads decrying the signing of the state’s Parental Rights in Education law, which critics call “Don’t Say Gay.”

The mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, is behind the campaign to invite Floridians to move to NYC over the policy, which prohibits instruction on gender identity or sexuality in grades K-3 and in any grade in a way that’s not “age appropriate.”

Adams said in a news release, “Today, we say to the families living in fear of this state-sponsored discrimination that you will always have a home in New York City.”

The digital billboards will appear in donated outdoor spaces in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach. They will run for eight weeks.
