HUB Brooklyn bringing new restaurants and rooftop terrace to Riverside Avenue

It's not much to look at right now — just a nondescript, vacant corner lot surrounded by a chain-link fence at Forest Street and Riverside Avenue in Downtown Jacksonville.

But soon the lot at 400 Riverside Ave. will be a hub of activity when construction begins on The HUB Brooklyn — a mixed-use development featuring a new restaurant, coffeehouse and an artisan bakery: Alder & Oak, Southern Grounds & Co. and Blueberry Bakery.

All are concepts from Mark Janasik, a veteran Jacksonville restaurateur and entrepreneur who is one of the project's leaders.
