Seniors would live off the land in proposed Christian community

A Jacksonville nonprofit has proposed an ambitious Christian housing community for middle-income seniors that would include farm animals and be self-sustainable.

The vision for the G3 Village, a $65 million to $70 million project, came from Joanne Hickox, Seniors on a Mission founder and executive director.

She and the nonprofit's board unveiled the concept at an April 8 fundraiser. Now she is already in talks with three potential land donors.
