Recreational boaters on the St. Johns River downtown soon will be able to tie up during the day at a new public dock in Riverside so they can come ashore to dine or shop in nearby Five Points.
Post Street Day Docks will have public slips plus one for water taxi use, Daryl Joseph, director of the city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services told the Times-Union.
The city is nearly finished building the dock located at the foot of Post Street off Riverside Avenue between the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens and The Garden Club of Jacksonville.
