Another mural has joined Jacksonville's colorful public spaces.
Local artist Shaun Thurston recently completed a 546-square-foot mural at Tulsa Welding School’s Jacksonville campus, at 3500 Southside Blvd.
The school says the mural, activated by art activation agency Muros, shines a light on the welding trade and local community at a time when demand for skilled tradespeople is rising.
Thurston, a Jacksonville native, graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville and attended the Florida School of the Arts in Palatka before transferring to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia with a portfolio scholarship.
Thurston has completed more than 50 commissions since his early 20s, as well as hundreds of personal and public works.
