State Sen. Audrey Gibson ended the suspense over her next political move by entering the race for Jacksonville mayor, bringing two decades of experience in the Florida Legislature to her candidacy in an expanding field for 2023.
“We have a strong mayor form of government ,and I will be just that, while knowing that for the least of these to the most of these, I am but a humble servant," she said Tuesday in announcement speech in front of the Duval County Supervisor of Election's office.
She becomes the second Democrat to file for mayor. Donna Deegan already launched her campaign.
