Jacksonville is home to two separate job fairs this month, one targeting veterans and their families and the other looking for residents interested in manufacturing.
Disabled American Veterans and Recruit Military are partnering to co-host the Jacksonville All Veterans Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at TIAA Bank Field.
The event, which is free to veterans, active-duty military personnel, members of the National Guard and Reserve as well as their families, will have more than 60 employers recruiting across a wide range of industries, from medical fields to construction and administration.
Residents in the Jacksonville-area with an interest in attending can register online here.
The fair will also provide free services to veterans like career counseling, resume-building and claims assistance.
Later in the month, CareerSource Northeast Florida will join St. Johns River State College for another job fair at the college's Orange Park Campus, at 283 College Drive, with a focus on prospective employees interested in the manufacturing field.
The in-person job fair, which will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 20, will feature over a dozen manufacturing firms including Aero-Hose, The Boeing Co., Veritas Steel and Georgia-Pacific.
Open positions include chemical engineer, welder, quality assurance and general laborer.
