Fireworks are scheduled for midnight on New Year's Eve over the St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville.

Jacksonville sure does love its fireworks displays. You can find the skies over Downtown exploding in colorful sparks on the Fourth of July, after the annual Lighted Boat Parade and after many Jumbo Shrimp baseball games.

So it makes perfect sense to welcome 2023 with a bang. Plans are in the works for the city’s annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show — which starts at midnight so is technically a New Year’s Day fireworks show.

Fireworks will be launched from the Acosta Bridge and from a barge in the river near the temporary home of the USS Orleck, in front of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Pyro Shows, which has been doing fireworks shows for more than 50 years, will do the launching.
