Jacksonville’s newest medical marijuana store will open this weekend in the bustling Five Points area.

Sunburn Cannabis will have a prelaunch party from 6 to 10 p.m. today, with its official opening party from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at its new site at 1059 Park St. The events include food vendors and performances from local artists Honey Sounds and Destiny Lopez.

This is the sixth Sunburn Cannabis store in Florida, after another opened in December in Jacksonville Beach.

The Five Points store sits in an area full of restaurants, bars and stores and blocks from the St. Johns River. It should be “a key store” for the company, said Sunburn CEO Brady Cobb.

Medical marijuana and low-THC cannabis is available in Florida for qualified patients, who must have an active medical marijuana card.
